For ages 6–9 · Class 1 to Class 3

Ten stories told in new ways (a postcard from the sky and a village news report among them) and two making tasks. Your child reads, collects WOW words, tries a WONDER science test, and builds a model. Do the tasks in any order: one a day, or at your own pace. There are no dates and no quiz questions. At the end, Jugnu and friends star in a puppet theatre show for the family.

About the stories

The stories are retold gently and checked for accuracy. Sri Ram, Sita Ji, Sri Lakshman, Sri Hanuman, Sri Krishna and Lakshmi Ji are named with respect, and they appear only in graceful story pictures, never as cut-outs or puppets. The crafts use Jugnu, animals, places and diyas.

What you need at home

Colouring pencils, scissors, glue stick, sticky tape, thin card, 2 paper fasteners, straws, a paper clip, 80 cm of string, a little glitter, paint for thumbprints, a bowl of water, foil, paper and cloth.

Time: about 30 to 40 minutes a task. Read the words aloud together; do the tasks in any order.
